During holidays and special occasions, a familiar scene unfolds; some people celebrate New Year with their loved ones under the glow of fireworks, the sound of festive music, or even within the cosy confines of their homes, enjoying the warmth of family and a simple table adorned with festive food.
Yet, “putting bread on the table” deprives some people from such luxury; they spend the first hours of the new year at work, especially under the light of increasing prices and the unbearable pressures of providing for their families, giving daily labourers or minimum wages workers no space to breathe and lay back a bit.
